Portugal Masters, Second Round - Link 1 !EXCLUSIVE!

After nearly 50 years of nobody on the European Tour breaking 60 in an official event, Oliver Fisher has accomplished the feat with a magical 59 in the second round of the Portugal Masters on Friday. Fisher really could have been one better as he touched the cup with a birdie bid on the 18th, but an easy tap-in led to the first 59 in Tour history.

And yet another player who relies on accuracy, a strong approach game and a solid short game to succeed. Pan has finished 11th and 16th at Mayakoba and 13th and 6th at Sea Island. He ranked 57th last season for Strokes Gained: Approach and 82nd in SG: Around the Greens. He was also 59th in Driving Accuracy. This is a very watered-down field this week and when assessing the participants over their last 36 rounds, Pan ranks second in the field in Greens in Regulation Gained. I think he has the tools to fare well this week.

Back at the top of the market and you'd think Ryan Fox would put it all together soon enough, having made every cut and bagged five top-30 finishes in six starts since returning. He's another who chose not to put himself through the mill at Valderrama and he does have a round of 64 here to his name, but I would prefer to back this iffy putter when there's less of an emphasis on going low. Perhaps the links opportunities to come will make the difference and he's passed over again here.

At eighth in strokes-gained approach in Mallorca he was back firing at flags as he had in Prague and now he comes to a course where he was 17th on his second visit a year ago. Tellingly, that was Green's standout performance of the year, an opening 66 the only time he was inside the top 20 after round one as he at last got a taste of being in the mix. 041b061a72
